Marqeta: Money 20/20
Motion Design
I worked with the marketing and event team to animate assets designed to put Marqeta on every brand touchpoint of the Money20/20 experience, from airport arrival to the venue's elevator lobbies. I animated the airport ad myself, and created a set of motion guidelines and behaviors to direct the creative agency producing the elevator lobby ads, both grounded in the visual design toolkit and the campaign's core messaging device: "and, not or."

For Money20/20 held in Las Vegas FY2025, I created animated ads built around the campaign's core idea: "and, not or." The motion told the story itself: opposing capabilities entered from opposite sides of the frame, separated by "or," then resolved into a single message, a payments provider that delivers both.
Featured at the LAS airport, the ads reached attendees the moment they landed, and the animation let the concept register in seconds, even at a glance.
I also directed the animated elevator lobby video that played at the event venue. I devised a motion behaviours toolkit, a defined set of movements drawn from payment gestures like swiping, stacking, and fanning cards, that served as clear creative direction for the agency producing the animation.
Working from it, I storyboarded the video's narrative arc: opposing claims like "reliable enough for your CTO or innovative enough for your CPO" entering in tension, then resolving into Marqeta's "both, not either" message. The toolkit meant the agency's output stayed on-brand without rounds of correction, and the lobby loop delivered the campaign story to a captive audience waiting at the elevators.
